Online Services

GP online services allow you to access a range of services via your computer, mobile or tablet. Once you have signed up, you will be able to:

  • book or cancel appointments online
  • renew or order repeat prescriptions online
  • view parts of your GP record, including information about medication, allergies, vaccinations, previous illnesses and test results

You can still contact the practice by phone or in person, this is just another option, which other patients have found is more convenient and saves them time. More information including “how to” leaflets and videos of patients and why they are using GP online services are available at www.nhs.uk/gponlineservices

How to sign-up

Download the 'NHS app' on your mobile, tablet or computer ,For more information, please contact reception or next time you visit the surgery, bring with you a piece of photo ID (passport, driving licence) and something with your address on like a bank statement but not a gas or electric bill. If you don’t have these, please talk to us and we will help you sign-up

Welcome to Hill Barton Surgery

The doctors and staff at Hill Barton Surgery in Exeter are proud to offer the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare.We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offer a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, Travel vaccinations and childhood vaccinations. The Care Quality Commission carrried out an inspection in July 2019 and found Hill Barton Surgery to be rated GOOD overall, please view the report in the CQC tab at the bottom for further information.

Nexus Primary Care Network Enhanced Access Appointments for weekends and evenings. Please use following link, https://nexuspcn.co.uk/enhanced-access-appointments/ 

Since October 2022, all GP practices are now offering enhanced access appointments to their patients through their Primary Care Network (PCN). This means your GP practice may be available for appointments outside of core hours on predetermined days.

These appointments will be bookable in advance, and some may be available same day (subject to capacity). Various health care professionals working within the practices teams will be available during these additional hours, offering a range of services outside core hours.

To provide greater flexibility to patients, you may be booked in for an enhanced access appointment at any of the practices within our PCN. Our PCN, called ‘Nexus’ includes five local GP practices; Mount Pleasant Health Centre, South Lawn Medical Practice, Hill Barton Surgery, The Heavitree Practice & ISCA Medical Centre.

The latest results of our Surgery survey are published in the survey report tab. 81% patients rated the Hill Barton Surgery at Good , Very good or Excellent, Thank you to all patients that filled in a survey, the results are reviewed by the practice and the Patient participation group. Disabled Access

The surgery has been designed with disabled access to the practice and there is a downstairs toilet.  If it is difficult for you to climb the stairs please tell the receptionist and she will arrange a downstairs consultation. If you wish to receive any correspondence in a different format, large text, braille and so on please let a receptionist know.
